Our Mission
We provide each child a unique learning experience at their own pace while promoting self-discipline, independence, respect to one another and responsibility through individual and group learning experience.
We create a positive mixed-age class group in a prepared environment for our children to learn, play and socialize.
We believe that each child learns and plays differently — that’s where we give each child individual attention and guidance in becoming tomorrow’s leader.
Hello Parents!
Meet your child's teacher: Ms. Sri Soewandi
My name is Srihayati Soewandi, my students call me Ms. Sri.
I have been teaching early childhood education for the past 10 years and I love it!
I graduated from Minnesota State University and finished my master program at University of Dallas in 2007. I am also a certified Montessori teacher since 2010.
Between 2009 to 2012 I worked in various preschool programs in Dallas metroplex, both private and public. In 2012, I decided to start my own school in North Dallas. I was blessed to have the privilege of running my school as the director and was involved in the day-to-day operation of the school.
Due to my husband's job, we were given the opportunity to move to Houston. We sold our school in February 2019 and here we are.
Moving to Houston has been a great adventure for us. We love the city and we are discovering new things each week. Now that we’re settling down in Richmond, TX, I can’t wait to start doing what I love most.
I am truly excited to meet, learn and play with your children while providing safe, loving and caring environment.

Our Program
This is what you might expect from your child after spending a day with us.
We start our day with a pledge of allegiance and sing our favorite hello song to our friends. Following that, we had circle time where we shared our story, learning objectives review. We then danced to get our giggles out to start our individual work.
During this time everyone in our class worked on different learning materials. Some work individually, some with partners and some with me for small group learning. We then have snack after we finished our work. After all of us finished with our snack, we moved on to do our daily specials. We like to call this our Social Activities. Mondays are for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), on Tuesdays we talk about the arts, Wednesdays are all about practical life, Thursday is gross motor day, and on Fridays we discuss social studies.
Our last activities before we go home is Spanish. We chant, sing, and dance in Spanish. I give each students individual attention, we truly create a learning experience based on what the child need. Everyone is different. They all learn and play their own way.

Frequently-Asked Questions
What’s the reasoning behind our school name?
I named my school Children’s way learning station because there’s no better way than teaching a concept using the way how a child’s mind works. Teach and accommodate in a way of how a child think that leads to decision making, how they use their skill, how their curiosity leads to action, and how their creative hands and body works when learning. Every child learns differently and they learn in their own pace.
What is the learning foundation of Children’s way?
I believe learning is best when introduced in an environment where multiple age groups are present. In the early preschool year, a child is learning how to control their 5 senses, how to control emotion, how to communicate their need and want, and understanding of mannerism among other children. A multiple age group class gives the opportunity for them to experience family sense where respect and love is the foundation of self-discipline. Learning at a young age does not start with ABC or 123, I believe a child’s way of learning start with trust, respect, self-discipline and a loving environment. We will promote self-independence, respect to one another, individual and group learning experience, learning of responsibility and a loving environment.
How do we promote academic learning in multiple age group environments?
Routine start with greetings, learning objective review through songs and chants, review the classroom rules, and we close our circle time sing and dance to get our “wiggles out” to start our academic activities. There will be learning station set up for each age group activities. Children learn to raise their hands when they need to speak during individual/small group time. At this time we are promoting individual learning and self-control while respecting each other space. During the individual learning experience, I will make my rounds to each group and emphasize the learning objectives. After each activity, each child is given an opportunity to transfer their work into paper. Each day we will go over our language / math area and one other subject in practical life, cultural, discovery, gross motor, Spanish and art.
